About Shannon Doyle

Artist Shannon Doyle was born in Grafton in 1978. Growing up on the north coast of NSW, he began technique based painting lessons at age 15.

After completing university in Toowoomba, in 1999 Shannon relocated to the Gold Coast where he began to exhibit in group and solo shows.

Shannon’s extensive range has seen him work on a variety of commissions. This includes traveling to Donetsk in Ukraine to work on ceiling art, alongside specialist Italian artists.

Shannon went from strength to strength. Selected as a finalist in the 2011 Duke Prize, the Artfelt Prize 2012 and the prestigious Metro Art Award for 2012 was just the beginning.

In 2013 he was selected in the Sunshine Coast Art Prize and was awarded first prize in both the Surrealism and Figurative sections of the 2013 Mortimore Prize.

2015 saw Shannon a finalist in the Sunshine Coast Art Prize.

Awarded the People’s Choice Award at the Cowra Art Prize in NSW in 2016, he also was a finalist in the 2016 Stanthorpe Art Prize.

Shannon was once again a finalist in the 2018 Stanthorpe Art Prize and was the winner of Highly Commended in the 2018 Cowra Art Prize.

His solo exhibition, ‘A Climate of Change’ was recognised as another big step forward in Shannon’s art career.

Shannon’s work has attracted collectors both nationally and internationally.
